Who We Are

We are proud to be Texans, and we are proud of our little Texas town.

Hubbard was founded in 1881 and named for Governor Richard Hubbard, but its historical significance extends into the depths of time. For a thousand years, Hubbard sat at a natural intersection of Native American trails. These trails were eventually replaced by railroads. The history of Hubbard encompasses that of American expansion westward - cowboys and Indians, the gold rush, and the industrial revolution.

Hubbard grew into a booming cotton manufacturing town, and had two movie theaters, an opera house, and a large auto dealership.

Hubbard is home to Tris Speaker, the first Texan inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and has a museum in his honor.

Today Hubbard is a wonderful place to raise a family or to visit. With excellent educational facilities and a small town atmosphere of caring for your neighbors, more and more people are relocating to Hubbard to work from home while still having easy access to the big city.
